Privacy Policy – Chordmo
Effective date: 7/7/2026
Last updated: 7/7/2026
ConnerStudios (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Chordmo mobile and desktop application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
If you have questions, contact us at nathan_conner@hotmail.com.
Summary
Chordmo is built to keep your music library on your devices. We do not require an account to use the App, we do not show ads, and we do not operate a cloud service that stores your songs or setlists on our servers.
Most data in Chordmo is stored locally on your device and stays under your control.
Information the App Stores on Your Device
When you use Chordmo, the App may store the following on your device:
- Song library data — ChordPro charts, metadata (title, key, tempo, CCLI number, tags, etc.), and related edits you make in the App
- Setlists and service plans — songs, service elements, notes, and performance-related settings
- Audio files — imported or linked audio (pads, tracks, bumpers, etc.)
- App settings — preferences such as display options, MIDI mappings, sync settings, and team contact details you enter (for example, names and email addresses for “Send to team”)
- Performance and planning data — optional items such as duration-tracking samples, congregation response marks, and similar features you choose to use
- Backup and export files — when you create or import
.chordmobackup,.chordmoplan, or exported chart files - Diagnostic logs — optional local log files used for troubleshooting, stored on the device
This information is created by you or imported by you from files you choose.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not:
- Require you to create an account or sign in
- Collect your song library, setlists, or audio on our servers
- Sell your personal information
- Use the App to display third-party advertising
- Operate a social network or public content feed inside the App
We do not intentionally collect personal information and transmit it to ConnerStudios unless you contact us directly (for example, by email for support).
Device Sync (Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth)
Chordmo can sync libraries between your own devices on a local network using Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth. Sync traffic stays on your network between devices you control. We do not receive or store sync data on ConnerStudios servers.
You are responsible for using sync only on networks and with people you trust.
File Import, Export, and Sharing
You may import chart and audio files from your device storage and export or share backups and plan packages using your device’s share sheet, email client, or other apps you choose.
When you use Share, email, or similar features:
- The App prepares files or messages on your device
- Delivery happens through your email app, cloud storage, or other services you select
- We do not control those third-party services and are not responsible for their privacy practices
Device Permissions
Depending on your platform and how you use the App, Chordmo may request permissions such as:
| Permission | Why it is used |
|---|---|
| Internet / network | Local sync, companion features on your network, and general connectivity used by system components |
| Wi‑Fi / local network | Discovering and connecting to other Chordmo devices on your network for sync |
| Bluetooth | Syncing with nearby devices when you use Bluetooth sync |
| Storage / media / files | Importing ChordPro charts, audio, backups, and plan packages; saving exports you request |
You can deny some permissions, but related features may not work.
Third-Party Services
Google Fonts (optional network use)
The App may download font files from Google Fonts (operated by Google) for display and printing. When fonts are downloaded, your device may connect to Google’s servers. Google’s privacy policy applies to that connection:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
Fonts may be cached on your device after download.
Platform app stores
If you install or update Chordmo through Google Play, Microsoft Store, or another store, that store may collect information according to its own privacy policy. We do not control store billing or account systems.
Children’s Privacy
Chordmo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support contact, email us and we will delete it.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because your library is stored locally:
- Data remains on your device until you delete it in the App, remove files, or uninstall the App
- Uninstalling Chordmo or clearing the App’s storage on your device removes App data from that device
- Backups or exports you saved elsewhere (email, cloud drive, USB, etc.) are your responsibility to delete
We do not retain copies of your library on our servers.
Security
We design Chordmo so your primary library data stays on your device. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. You should protect your devices with a screen lock, keep backups you trust, and use sync only on secure networks.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
